<p>Senior Account Manager, Heather Townsend has joined Oi. Moving from an integrated advertising agency in London to Guernsey, Heather is a qualified marketer and has recently worked on leading brand accounts such as The Telegraph newspaper, NIVEA and SCA Hygiene. As Senior Account Manager on these accounts she has worked across a variety of advertising, digital, PR, experiential and on-pack campaigns&#8230;<span id="more-5473"></span></p>
<p>“Heather brings a fresh, new perspective to the agency. She is very experienced and importantly full of energy, which is great to see,” said Peter Grange, Oi Managing Director.  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>Heather said: “I am excited to be joining Oi – a great group of people creating innovative, creative and cutting edge ideas and solutions, with a fantastic client base.’’</p>
<p>Her appointment follows the hiring of three other key members of staff. Gareth Rowson, has joined as a Senior Creative. For the last five years he has based himself on this side of the globe, recently freelancing for multiple agencies and small businesses internationally including well-known local company Healthspan Group.  Gareth has created brand identities for local businesses through to packaging designs as far afield as New Zealand’s Kapiti Cheeses.</p>
<p>“He’s a welcome addition at a time when originality and creative thinking are the currency of a new competitive world.  With his wide range of project experience Gareth brings a wealth of creative talent to the Oi team,” said Steph Brun, Oi Creative Director.</p>
<p>Tamara O’Brien has joined Oi as a Consultant Strategist providing board level brand planning and direction across our client portfolio. Tamara is a high-caliber industry professional with an unusual mix of both marketing and advertising having spent many years in leading companies on both sides of the fence.  She has created and run her own brands, as well as run her own agency helping high profile FMCG brands do the same.  Tamara spent her formative years in advertising at Saatchi &amp; Saatchi London.</p>
<p>Josh Brennan has joined as a Web Developer in Oi’s digital team. Josh brings a wealth of expertise in building anything from .Net to PHP sites, and is also experienced in Flash.</p>

<p>New digital billboards are being tested with cameras in the advert hoardings to identify the age and sex of passers-by enabling advertisers to display relevant products to specific target audiences&#8230;</p>

<p>The signs are being trialled in Japan and it is believed companies will be watching closely to see if they do well. This move, no different to retailers using cookies online to see what items shoppers looked at, could revolutionise outdoor advertising mediums.</p>
<p>Some retail stores in the USA have also been testing another system which texts vouchers and offers to customers’ phones within a mile of the branch. About 65% of people that received the alerts went into the shop. The scheme could be extended to the UK in six months.</p>
