Oi has just launched a new advertising campaign for Collins Stewart Wealth Management at Guernsey airport that’s guaranteed to get noticed OUTside and INside.

After many requests, and years of waiting, the authorities finally agreed to allow advertising on the four main entrance/ exit doors to the airport. This is arguably the best advertising locations at the airport. So we were first to secure the space for our client and then came up with a really simple but very striking concept…

As you approach to enter the airport we placed the following messages on the doors: ‘INvesting in the islands’ and as you exit ‘OUTstanding service’. On clean, white backgrounds with the logo, web address, and client’s orchid brand image, the response has been really positive.

Once you’ve seen the adverts all you have to do is cross the road to the taxi rank and jump in to one of the five Collins Stewart Wealth Management branded London-style taxis, also secured and designed by Oi.

We’d like to welcome James Carter to the Oi Jersey team as a Senior Creative.

James finished a design degree at University for Creative Arts (UCA) in 2006 then returned to his home island of Jersey to work for Side-On. During his time there he was responsible for some award-winning creative campaigns. He’s had a stint working on personal projects and is now looking forward to working on the many exciting projects for clients the Oi Jersey team are picking up, plus hopefully helping win us a few more marketing awards.

A passionate skateboarder, surfer, snowboarder and general adrenalin junkie, design is what James really lives for. Every minute of every day he’s thinking of designs and creative ideas. Just what we like.

The naming and identity links in to Cherry Godfrey’s proposition….they like to say ‘Yes’ to customers applying for loans, insurance and mortgages.

As well as creating, managing, distributing and analysising each email shot using our OiMail system, we have also created a special YesMail sign up section on the new Cherry Godfrey website – 711666.com - which also allows people to tell their friends about the e-club.

Oi has won a pitch against London agencies to become the digital partner for a leading global alternative investment consultancy, which has its head office in London.

Laven Partners appointed the agency following a final shoot out against two London agencies and said its selection process was based on our ability to provide ‘the full range of digital media services from design, build, to all areas of online marketing’.

We are currently working on the redesign and build of the company’s three websites, which will be launched in June.

This is the latest in a series of adverts created by Oi to promote  travel insurance cover from Cherry Godfrey, a leading Channel Island financial services company.

Appearing in a special travel supplement, the advert had a really nice creative theme clearly pointing out the benefits of getting a policy from  Cherry Godfrey, all the usual call to actions, plus had a Quick Response (QR) code to make it even easier for customers to get a quote and pay for their travel insurance online at 711666.com via their mobile phone. So, that’s pretty much everything covered.

Oi has launched the first advertising campaign in the Channel Islands using a Quick Response (QR) code for leading financial services company, Cherry Godfrey.

The adverts, which promote the speed at which customers can get quotes and pay for comprehensive travel insurance (from as little as £9.99) designed specifically for Islanders, feature the special QR code which enables people to use their smartphones to instantly access Cherry Godfrey’s website 711666.com. All they have to do is download a QR image-reader app, point their smartphone’s camera at the code on the advert, and the Cherry Godfrey website will instantly show on their phone…

For those who may not be aware – a QR code is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data. Common in Japan, where it was created by Toyota subsidiary Denso-Wave in 1994, the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes, and is now starting to take off in the UK.

As a full-service agency, with the Channel Islands’ largest digital media team, we see the huge potential and ongoing growth in QR codes. They are a great way of linking traditional advertising with digital media, remotely and quickly.  That’s why we’re looking forward to seeing the results of this campaign, and will be using QR codes in many more campaigns to come.

A major property developer has appointed Oi as its full-service marketing agency to work on some of Guernsey’s most iconic and important developments over the coming years…

Charles McHugh of The Strategic Development Partnership and the consortium of investors he represents has appointed the agency to work on a wide range of development projects including the redevelopment of the former Randall’s Brewery site in St Julian’s Avenue.

As design plays such an integral part of property development, we’re really excited about working on the different projects spanning up to 10 years, which will involve everything from brand strategy and creation to fully integrated marketing campaigns.

Due to the diversity of the various developments there’s a great opportunity to create some truly different and outstanding work, so watch this space.

A new addition to the Oi office includes this pretty cool Victorian sofa we had refurbished and covered with Designers Guild fabric created by the brilliant team at Evie & Me Interiors…

We made the move to our bigger, and much nicer, new office a few month’s ago and the fit out – which blends the traditional Victorian building with modern features – is nearing completion.

There’s lots of other nice, unusual touches yet to be completed, which we’ll reveal soon.

Oi has hired another web developer as its digital media team goes from strength to strength.

Jonathan Warr has been developing for the past five years and has just completed his MCSE 2003 at the London School of Computer Education. A Guernsey man, He enjoys playing lots of sport and has represented the Island at both cricket and hockey and aspires to be a scratch handicap at golf. Due to his entrepreneurial nature he is always generating new ideas, which is great news for the business.
