Just came back through Guernsey airport from big presentation in Jersey and two 2-metre wide mystery boxes suspended from the ceiling have appeared! Maybe it’s the Jedi Master in hiding? Has anyone else seen them? Any ideas what’s inside?

A ray of hope through the ash cloud?

April 20th, 2010   |   Posted by Tamara O'Brien

We hope so; IPA/BDO’s latest Bellwether Report claims marketing budgets are on the rise, generally indicating a more confident outlook by brands and their marketing teams.  When brands spend on marketing it’s a good sign they are using this investment to fuel growth.  Good news not just for the agencies who produce their work, but for the brands themselves…

Masterful move by Oi.

April 19th, 2010   |   Posted by Peter Grange

Oi has won the tender to be the first independent commercial sponsor to brand one of the most iconic landmarks in Guernsey.

Our innovative submission clinched the deal, which includes installing a webcam at the top of the 32-metre mast at Guernsey’s busiest roundabout. The webcam will stream live footage across the east coast of Guernsey to Herm and Sark accessible through this website and a few others (to be announced in the near future). Oi will initially also feature a number of branded flags on the mast and then offer our clients branding opportunities in the future.

Better creative briefs = better work.

February 18th, 2010   |   Posted by admin

The person who said this didn’t have a long or illustrious career in our industry. So why are we investing so much time in making our Creative Briefs the best they can be, and bringing over a top London agency trainer in the next few weeks to give a two-day workshop for staff and clients on producing and presenting effective briefs?

Better briefs and better briefing create better work which is right first time which makes our clients happier which improves our margins which makes us all ecstatic.

The Brief is a key document for everyone involved in the process of developing creative work. Account handlers, creative teams, producers and project managers, planners, media partners and most importantly our clients. It’s three main purposes are…

iPhone saves man buried in Haiti rubble.

January 22nd, 2010   |   Posted by Stéphane Brun

iphone_12

This is an INCREDIBLE story.

US filmmaker Dan Woolley was shooting a documentary about  poverty in Haiti when he was buried under rubble during the recent earthquake. He could have died…he SHOULD have died, but he didn’t due to the help of his trusty iPhone and a first aid app called Pocket First Aid & CPR that taught him to treat his wounds and ultimately saved his life. You can read the whole amazing tale here, but it just goes to show that Apple’s incredible bit of shiny kit really is more useful than anything else you could put in your pocket.

Happy New year everybody.
