The alternative to London agencies.

May 26th, 2011   |   Posted by

Oi has won a pitch against London agencies to become the digital partner for a leading global alternative investment consultancy, which has its head office in London.

Laven Partners appointed the agency following a final shoot out against two London agencies and said its selection process was based on our ability to provide ‘the full range of digital media services from design, build, to all areas of online marketing’.

We are currently working on the redesign and build of the company’s three websites, which will be launched in June.

Oi opens Jersey office.

May 16th, 2011   |   Posted by

Oi has opened an office in Jersey to service existing pan-island clients and seek further expansion.

Heather Townsend, a qualified marketer, has been promoted to Director of Oi Jersey, which is based in 4 Wharf Street, St Helier. She will initially be supported by an Account Executive and is looking for experienced creatives, designers and web developers in order to expand the agency.

Heather previously ran Oi’s Client Services department in Guernsey before moving to live in Jersey earlier this year. Prior to that she worked for a leading full-service marketing and advertising agency in London for five years.

‘As the biggest brand communications agency in Guernsey, and with a portfolio of pan-island clients including Collins Stewart Wealth Management, Investec, Cherry Godfrey, Garenne Group and Waitrose, the Jersey office was a logical next step in the evolution of Oi,’ said Heather…

Decoding the code.

According to the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) and consultancy PwC, 2010 was a year of phenomenal growth for mobile advertising with the UK market growing 116% to £83m in 2010 – that is an astonishing growth rate, and this seems set to rise. Gmail Motion April Fools' Video

The search engine giant Google have continued their annual April Fools’ barrage of worldwide pranks with the 2011 Gmail Motion Beta. The spoof video hilariously suggests the use of spatial tracking technology to use your email without a mouse or keyboard. Actions similar to ‘fly away Peter, fly away Paul’ are commands for ‘reply’ and ‘reply all’ respectively and of course to send a message simply lick a stamp and place it down. See the video in its entirety here.

Among Googles repertoire of pranks this year is Chromercise, increasing hand strength and dexterity while browsing the web faster (the video is hilarious), Google Teleport in China allowing users to time travel anywhere in the world and a dragon in Germany’s biggest forest on Google Maps.
