First London taxi advertising campaign launched in Guernsey.

When the opportunity presents itself we like to think big. Thinking big means looking past what is currently happening in a specific situation or market and creating new opportunities.

That’s exactly what we did for Collins Stewart Wealth Management to help them significantly build their brand profile in Guernsey. During the campaign planning stages we considered all of the various mediums and channels. But something was missing. Something different. With a fleet of London-style taxis driving around not carrying any advertising (unlike in London where it is unusual to see a plain black cab) we saw the opportunity. On average a London-style taxi in Guernsey spends 70 hours a week on the road. It’s a small island, so that means covering a lot of distance and passing a lot of places and people, especially at the airport…

So, we made a call to the Taxi Driver’s Federation, got the names of all the drivers, phoned them up, negotiated outline three-year contracts, then presented this to our client. They loved the idea of having exclusivity on all London-style taxis in the island and the exposure they would achieve. Next we had all the London-style taxis branded externally and internally, plus made sure that branded receipt cards were given to all the drivers.

Brand awareness of Collins Stewart Wealth Management in Guernsey is at an all-time high. It goes to show; thinking big can give your brand a real lift.
