Hello 2010 – the year  many companies have re-evaluated their business strategies, models and approaches, and are taking a fresh look at the way they do business. Sometimes change is good; it keeps you on your toes and thinking forward.
This year we’re changing things slightly but at the same time keeping it simple. Three core areas of focus, in fact: increase our investment in the development of our staff, help our clients embrace the ‘new world’ and effectively communicate with audiences through the rapidly evolving and converging channels, and enhance our business development approach…
As members of the IPA we’re able to access their comprehensive training network, so most of the team are currently undertaking some form of CPD, which is great because the more we know, the more value we add to our clients. We’re also bringing over a top agency trainer from the UK for a two-day brief writing and development session (if anyone would like to join us, they’re more than welcome.) You can never be good enough at briefing. It’s a refined skill that everyone should always look to improve. After all the better the briefing, the better the end results.
We’ve got a nice line up of socials too with our first a fun basketball match on Monday (two of the team are island players, so that should be interesting). Pictures are sure to appear on the bog in the coming weeks. And hopefully no injuries, especially groin strains. Ouch.
The culmination of continued training throughout the year should lead to better work across the entire group as we push to be more open minded and innovative in our approaches, which can only benefit our clients.
Then there’s the business development, which like it or not, is an essential part of agency life. We’re not proud, so we’re sharpening up our skills there too with some help of a top London trainer.
Here’s to 2010; it’s going to be a good year.
