It’s often said that the simplest ideas are the best; that there’s little point in trying hard to find something in a product that just doesn’t exist solely so that one can feel better about themselves and their ‘Oh-so-clever’ idea for whatever it happens to be. Doesn’t help the client, doesn’t help the public…and in truth, doesn’t even help the designer as he or she is merely fooling themselves that they’ve done a good job…
These ads from OCP Creativity for Ostrich Territory are as simple as can be, with a basic idea that is as obvious as the fact that cows go moo, ducks taste great in pancakes and pigs can’t fly…no matter how hard you fling em’. Yet they still look fabulous, make you smile and get people to read the teeniest tiniest bit of copy that explains it all. The copy says the following by the way, as it’s too small on here for you to read it:
Ostrich. The meat that everyone wants to be. Rich in Omega 3, high on proteins and only 1% fat. Recommended by cardiologists.
I came up with an idea similar to this a few years back for The Birmingham Institute of Proctology, but they decided not to run with it for some reason.
