Find all your problems…

August 23rd, 2011   |   Posted by

A beautifully shot and (in a couple of the executions) beautifully post-produced campaign for Mammadaba Latvia State Forests by MOOZ. Simple and direct but the lush photography and the 3D / Photoshop work really sell the idea. Some are better than others (the RUSH one is my favourite) but even so, the headline is a winner…top stuff. See all after the break…

Big hands make light work.

In such a fast moving industry it’s sometimes nice to pause and take a glance back at some of the great campaigns of yore.

Target  Store’s “Big Hands” campaign hit Australia in 2007 at an annual Big Toy Sale…

Sex sells, you monkey.

June 29th, 2011   |   Posted by

We all have to eat; you, me, fish, butterflies, birds etc. Well, monkeys have to eat too but therein lies the problem: just ‘what’ should they eat? As their lords and masters, we must defiantly force nature to take a back-seat and demand that these primates do as they’re told, eat what they’re told…and possibly even ‘wear’ what they’re told. But let’s not go down that road.

It’s unsurprising – in this world ruled by advertising campaigns for everything from scented nappies to sex toys that double as DIY tools for any tricky situation – that the human race is now hell bent on finding new and improved ways of getting other animals to buy into brands.

fLOOPing Brilliant

Hot Wheels…we all remember them, and if we don’t…then, umm…well, we don’t. We were probably doing something a lot more interesting with our day. I’d hazard a few guesses but one likes to keep things family friendly don’tcha’know? Anyway, here’s a little bit of loveliness from Oglivy & Mather on a Bogota motor-way in Colombia. How they did it and other installations from Hot Wheels inside the break…

1st Quick Response advertising campaign goes live.

March 21st, 2011   |   Posted by

Oi has launched the first advertising campaign in the Channel Islands using a Quick Response (QR) code for leading financial services company, Cherry Godfrey.

The adverts, which promote the speed at which customers can get quotes and pay for comprehensive travel insurance (from as little as £9.99) designed specifically for Islanders, feature the special QR code which enables people to use their smartphones to instantly access Cherry Godfrey’s website 711666.com. All they have to do is download a QR image-reader app, point their smartphone’s camera at the code on the advert, and the Cherry Godfrey website will instantly show on their phone…

Hot n’ Wholesome n’ Genius.

Is there any better way to feel warmed on a blisteringly cold early morning, than to be confronted by the sight of some hot buns huddled in a bus shelter? Of course there isn’t…it was a rhetorical question…

smart car. Really smart idea.

BBDO Toronto came up with this truly awesome bit of ambient advertising to promote the smart car’s ability to park anywhere in a busy city environment. Click the photo to see the poster used to promote the ambient installation.

Mobile Advertising moves with the times…

July 5th, 2010   |   Posted by

…and it also now moves with you, whevever you may be.

When Apple does something, the company usually tries its damnedest to do it better than everyone else. Now, one could argue whether they actually manage this or not until the cows come home and trample all over the beautiful shiny Apple bits of kit, smashing them to smithereens (or any kind of ‘een’ for that matter) and causing untold havoc in your study as they get impatient waiting for the newest incarnation of Windows to load properly. But no once can deny that Apple take great care over their consumer offerings and do their best to outdo not only the competition but also themselves. From personal computing to digital music, they excel and see opportunity where others don’t.

And now advertising has been given an Apple make-over. Read all about it HERE.

IBM cruises a Sci-Fi wave of awesomeness.

April 12th, 2010   |   Posted by

Okay…so this is pretty super-cool.

IBM are going all Sci-Fi with their new interactive billboard which they’re trialing as part of their Smarter Planet initiative (designed to make more efficient systems using the latest technology). The billboard changes its appearance based on what the person standing in front of it is wearing. It uses sensors and LEDs to dynamically update its color, urging the viewer to consider how technology could improve supply chain systems and retail experiences today.

So is this all just a great big multi-coloured nonsense or is there real merit in it?…

She’s only with him for his biscuits.

March 31st, 2010   |   Posted by

This humorous new campaign from CLM BBDO for Frolic dog biscuits depicts a familiar sight from the human world. Pretty, well groomed female pups with fat, unkempt dogs, imply that the females will happily lower their relationship standards to get their paws on Frolic dog biscuits. Hmm, they must be good!
