Oh, the wonders of scrap.

Sometimes you just have to sit back in wonder and wonder at how much wonder there is in the world. Only just the other day I was sitting at home wondering about how wonderful it would be to be able to put old plumbing to wonderous good use rather than just casting it aside and low and behold…

Kozo lamps came into being at the beginning of 2009 as a part of a project that dealt with using industrial materials to create a new product identity. Combined with a love for handmade designs and craft, the Kozo lamps became real products with their own special identity and personality.

All the lamps are handmade in Kozo’s design clinic and are all assembled with high standard components. The parts that used are handpicked from manufacturers all around the world, baring the trademarks of their origin. The materials are left raw and alive with rusty edges and the marks from the hand tools that were used in the manufacturing process.

The innovative faucet light switch and several additional components are manufactured by Kozo at the clinic. Each lamp is double checked before it leaves and they take full responsibility for the sustainability and high quality of the designs.

Since the first lamp was sold, Kozo have expanded the inventory to 7 models and many more will come.

Matterials:

Cast iron galvanized pipes & fittings, high standard electronics, ceramics, plastic.
